Good afternoon Mary (Pike)
I have been notified that due to the Covid impacts on family members, a couple of our councillors have commenced their 7-day isolation period. It’s been a tough decision as Councillors and Executive were hoping to resume an in-person meeting in Mount Beauty.
In order to meet requirements, the March meeting will now be live-streamed. Thank you so much for your offer to assist with the setup. I will take a raincheck at this time!
Kind regards,
Lisa Hood (Executive Assistant (CEO) – Alpine Shire)
Shire Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 1st March 2022 starting at 5:00 pm.

UKVCA Community Forum – Thur 7th April
Since 2014, The UKVCA has held an annual Community Forum to which we have invited representatives of all three levels of government.
Covid regulations have limited these in the last two years, but we are very pleased to announce that the 2022 Community Forum will go ahead on Thursday, April 7th provided there are no further Covid limitations.
This Forum will be held in the AUDITORIUM, adjacent to the Information Centre, at 7:30 pm.
In attendance will be Dr, Helen Haines, MHR Indi, and the CEO and Mayor of the Alpine Shire. Unfortunately, the Victorian Government will be sitting on that day, so our new MLA, Mr Tim McCurdy, will be an apology. He was very keen to come and certainly to be considered in the future and has asked to send a message to be read on his behalf.
We ask you to put the date on your calendar – come along, listen to our reps and ask any questions of concern to you.
In addition to this, the Alpine Shire Council will be holding the March meeting in the AUDITORIUM, at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1st. Community members may attend and ask questions from the floor in the allocated time and can also lodge Questions on Notice by Noon on the previous day through info@alpineshire.vic.gov.au, but the earlier, the better.
We hope you can use these opportunities to gain insight into the work of our various governing bodies.

UKVCA has received two requests to post notices of upcoming meetings related to this issue.
These are:
1. The ‘Great Project, Wrong Location’ group is holding an information session on Monday, January 17th, at 6:30 pm at the AUDITORIUM.
2. A ‘drop in’ information session by North East Water at the AUDITORIUM on Tuesday, January 18th, 4-7 pm.
UKVCA asks if you have concerns about this project that you attend both sessions, draw your own conclusions and have your interests heard.

The Mountain Creek Bridge replacement completion date has been delayed and will likely be re-opening in the second week of January – around 12 January 2022. This means that the bridge will be closed over the Christmas and New year period. Mountain Creek Track will remain open.
Note — the Lords Creek Bridge is likely to be finished before Christmas (completion date projected to be 23rd December, 2021). This bridge is on the Mitta Mitta side of Trappers Gap (saddle) about a 25-minute drive from Mitta Mitta.

From Monday, November 8th, dependent on good weather, refurbishing of the Public Toilets adjacent to the Bakery will commence.
While the Male and Female toilets are undergoing this work there will only be accessible to the disabled toilet.
Please remember this while visiting the shops – forewarned is forearmed.
One of the Preparedness activities that the Council have worked on is a Preparedness Trivia Night – a way to get people together and think on what might be needed for the upcoming fire season. It would be great if we can support this by attending a local one and getting this information into our communities. Register below.
