In August 2012, the Association was formed in response to community concerns about communication between the Community, the Alpine Shire, and other Government agencies.
The Upper Kiewa Valley Community Association Inc. is now a lobby and advocacy group. We aim to improve communication between the many groups in our region and among them.
UKVCA meets monthly to discuss community improvement opportunities and issues of local concern. It communicates concerns and suggestions to the Alpine Shire Council, other appropriate government departments, and relevant organisations, working collaboratively to achieve mutually beneficial and appropriate outcomes for the communities in our valley.
The association is in recess as of the 2024 AGM when insufficient support was shown to continue the Association.
